Tuning Inward - November 2017

Tuning Inward...

This past month and a bit, I have had the privilege and pleasure of attending three yoga therapy workshops: chronic pain, yoga nidra, and yoga for trauma and mental health. It has been a very full time for me of expanding knowledge and practice. I also had the opportunity to mentor in Vancouver with the amazing Nicole Marcia and attend some of her classes for people living in rehab or working through trauma.
I see my winter months ahead as processing, reflection, and development. I'm tuning in deeper to my authentic voice and what I want to teach and offer in my community. I continue to be in awe and humbled by the magic of yoga to bring people into their bodies and heal in a holistic way. I am also incredibly inspired by the authentic voices of those dealing with life's challenges and sharing. I've been following Jill Miller's journey of a full hip replacement after practicing yoga for years (you can check out her story through social media @yogatuneup or her website tuneupfitness.com). I've seen others with a huge following sharing about marriage struggles and mental health. I am even more committed to sharing with all of you in an authentic and whole hearted way. You can expect less advertising from me and more heart talk and questions (like whoa my hips click all the time too!). You can expect less social media posts and more time in my face to face community.
My sense of the world at this time and place is: external distraction and disconnection. The glorification of 'busy' and 'doing'. I see this in myself and notice it especially in social media. This fall I will be tuning in more to the voices inside me and of my loved ones. I want to read more books, pain, and practice my ukulele.
I would love to hear from you and how you plan on tuning in with the change in the season.
From my heart to yours,

Group Classes in Person

I will be in the studio this month teaching yoga therapy classes for my colleague Lyne Lantaigne. This is a great opportunity to come experience a therapeutic class and feel great.
